Jumpin' Jehoshaphat

I wonder how Jezebel, Jeroboam, and Job feel about being passed over for the Jumpin' accolade?  Don't you think they'd like to jump as well?

Jammin - Bob Marley  If you don't smile while you listen to this song, you are a McCarthyite.

Jeannie's Diary - Eels  We have hit the Eels stride now.  What lyrics...

I don't have a chance at writing the book
I just wanna be a page
In jeannie's diary
One single page
In jeannie's diary

Just Like Honey - Jesus & Mary Chain  I dare you, I double-dog dare you, to challenge Prince to a game of basketball...er, I mean, to not like this song.

Just Like Heaven - The Cure  This was the first Cure song I fell in love with.  So many great memories with this song.

Jennifer's Body - Hole  Fantastic song from a fantastic album.  Angry angry angry!!!  Its too bad she went bat-crazy.

Joey - Concrete Blonde  Meaningful high school song.

Just for Now - Imogen Heap  If my last name was heap, I would probably change it.

  1. Some great choices here. Don't tell DP about "Just Like Heaven", he may disparage your taste...in a public forum. Shhhh... I love that song too. This is one of my favorite Bob Marley songs, but for some reason I always sing "Pajamas" instead of "Jammin'." "Joey" reminds me of a first love. Courtney Love reminds me of why heroin is a bad idea. This post reminds me that MG is funny. (Did I need reminding?) And it is settled. I need to buy me some Eels.

  2. Thank you for Jesus and Mary Chain. I had almost forgotten them. It is like time travel.

  3. Just Like Heaven is wonderful. Furthermore, MoMI's J's were very good as well. I am confident that a series of awful songs resides in us all. It is unfortunate that Misty's all start with I. I laughed pretty hard at your Heap comment.

It was refreshing to see such an angry song on your top list. I'm the same in that I love angry music. I think that's why all my guilty pleasure bands are freaky.

  4. Happy songs make me angry. Sad songs make me happy. Angry songs make me happy too. But sometimes they just make me angry. And hungry.
